Got WASTED last nite ......

well it was a friend's birthday yesterday and i actually had no intentions of boozing or anything like it ....... lemme give a li'l bit of a background on this - i may not be quite the teetotaller but then i limit myself to a strictly occasional glass of wine and an equally occasional cranberry breezer ( for those who've watched 'The Departed', ha ha very funny ! ).

So there i was sitting pretty with a virgin colada in my hand (mocktail for the uninitiated) when i figured - hell! why not ? and so, at last count i had downed (and boy! i mean DOWNED - it took me three gulps to finish the martini, the other martini drinker took about an hour !)) 2 martinis, 1 daiquiri, 1 mojito as well as sips from other unattended glasses around the table .

And since i did forget that alcohol takes a while to kick in and make its presence felt, it was about an hour later that things, umm...... well...... began to get a li'l blurred and hazy.

So i staggered home at some 3 am in the morning with the beginnings of a SOLID hangover apart from the fact that i'd been running low grade temperature for the past couple of days....... well all i can say is that it wasn't pretty !

So back i go to my ocassional wine and breezer (still cranberry for all you Departed fans!) and i'm one experience richer (in this case, it was puking out chocolate cake that turned me off the whole lets-get-wasted funda and no, it wasn't in public or by the roadside, it was in my very own restroom it's just that it wasn't fun so there !)

Out of Gear ...... not quite !

out of touch, out of action, out of sync ..... but now i'm back !
so getting back let's talk about -

living your dreams, as opposed to living someone else's life - all of us have wanted to be a rockstar ! now this one's about a guy who's copied all the moves, all the gear and well just about everything about his favorite band . and then, the one day, he's a part of them, he's the lead vocalist and he's living the life he always wanted to except.....
he lives the way he's expected to, a clone of the former lead vocalist, a clone who can sing better, gets all the moves right and well...... gives the fans the stuff that they're used to. and that means, no music except the one that's created by the other band mates ..... somewhere in this there's an understanding and supportive band manager cum girlfriend and a slightly off the cuff road manager who....well, let's just say times his restroom breaks !

all this and more in a movie called ROCKSTAR - Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Aniston and some kickass music that's original ....... check out Stand up and Shout, Wasted Generation and We all Die Young.......

more intellectual discussion on this later .... at this point in time i'm watching Dhoom 2 which is salvaged thanks to Hrithik ...... that and more later amigos.
